Staying Ahead of the Curve: Monthly Product Updates for MSPs

A screenshot of a Detection & Response dashboard reveals a table detailing security issues. Columns such as detection type, issues, and sources are enriched with numerical data indicating severity and occurrences. A purple header bar offers navigation options. Stay informed with monthly updates for MSPs.

We’re thrilled to introduce the upgraded Guardz, packed with innovative features and enhancements. Our highlights include AI Threat Detection, White Label – Custom Subdomains, a Dynamic Detection & Response Page, and an improved Security Score. Each update is designed to provide better protection, easy customization, and increased transparency, making cybersecurity management a breeze for MSPs.

AI-Enhanced Email Scan

Hold onto your hats, and enjoy our new AI-Enhanced Email Scan.  Suspicious emails will now be grouped into subcategories to help admins and users better understand why they were flagged and how best to handle them.

Using AI threat detection has resulted in significant improvements in scan accuracy in identifying real risks, categorizing them, and explaining the reasons behind the detection.

What’s New:

  • Suspicious emails will be tagged with new “Threat” types.
    • Phishing
    • Scams
    • Impersonation
    • In addition to existing types:
      • Spam
      • Suspicious
      • Virus
      • Script
      • File Type
  • Each detection will have a “Reason” that is explained in natural language.
  • Both “Threats” and “Reasons” will be included in the:
    • Detection & Response page (for admins)
    • Caution Banner (for users)
    • Quarantine notification (for users)
    • User Portal – quarantine (for users)

White Label – Custom Subdomains

As part of a broader initiative to bring white labeling to customers on our Pro Plan, MSPs can now configure their own custom subdomain to hide the Guardz brand/domain from the users and employees being supported on a day-to-day basis.  Along with the existing branding capabilities, the recent launch of an SMTP integration, and the removal of “powered by Guardz” on user-facing communications, our partners can now select a subdomain that impacts emails, login pages, the user portal, and links.

Setup is quick and easy on the Organization Settings page.  We suggest using your company name in the subdomain so the users can better associate the URL in their browser along with your logo and contact info.  Custom subdomains are an optional part of using Guardz. Still, they are designed to help MSPs simplify the conversation around their security offering and keep the business relationship clear between you and your clients.

Dynamic Detection & Response Page

We listened to our partners and heard loud and clear that the issue page had become a bit overwhelming, especially with the real-time nature of email and other security alerts.  In response, we are launching a new workflow with dynamic views, allowing intent-driven discovery of the most important issues across your customer base.

This new page is called “Detection & Response,” and it replaces the old Issues page.

Navigating through this page is a dynamic and responsive workflow.  On the high level, detections are organized into issue groups and prioritized by the most critical.  Selecting an issue group opens up an inbox-style view, including the full table with all the detections.  Selecting a detection opens up the details drawer, including the remediation/response options.

Overall, this new experience keeps you focused on the most urgent issues while allowing you to explore all the detections based on the filtering and sorting that you require.  You’ll never be overwhelmed by a noisy interface and can resolve the detections that have the strongest impact on your customers’ security.

Improved Security Score

A redesign of the Guardz Security Score aligns with customer feedback and the growing adoption of our Insurance product.  In the past, it has been difficult to understand exactly the best way to improve the score and how to show an improved security posture over time.  The new formula and calculation is easier to understand and serve both the MSP and their customers to have better transparency over how they compare to industry and insurance benchmarks.

The score can be understood across two main dimensions.

  1. Coverage: The impact of each security control on the overall score, based on a predetermined percentage.
    • Not all security controls are equally impactful.
    • The percentage reflects a control’s significance to the overall security posture.
  2. Issues: The effect of open issues within each security control, modulated by their severity and quantity.
    • The severity and volume of issues determine their impact.
    • The influence of issues is capped at the security control’s contribution to the overall score, ensuring no control issues can disproportionately affect the total score.

We can’t wait for you to experience the newest updates! Keep your eyes peeled for more to come!
